ArtServe will name its main art gallery as the “Florida Power & Light Company Gallery” to honor FPL’s generous support of ArtServe’s many programs and artistic mission.
The naming will be officiated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m. in conjunction with the opening night reception for ArtServe’s new exhibit, “Looking Forward—Healing Through Art,” of which FPL is also a sponsor.

PEMBROKE PINES, FL. — August 16, 2023 -- With safety as the top priority for the teens and families at Children’s Harbor, the non-profit organization has increased security at the main campus, recently celebrating a ribbon cutting for a new security gate at the main entrance.
In addition to the security gate, Children’s Harbor, a nationally accredited nonprofit agency with a mission to help strengthen families who are struggling in the community while providing safe shelter and support to teens in foster care, also added new security cameras, security alarms and upgraded external lighting to ensure the safety of residents. MIRAMAR, FL - April 13, 2022 – Through all the obstacles students have faced over the last two years, Army JROTC cadets have risen to the challenge through their participation in the 2021-2022 JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl (JLAB). The cadets from Everglades High School have proven their ability to overcome and succeed despite those obstacles.
After advancing through two intense phases of online competition, the Everglades High School JROTC Academic Team, composed of Jean Carlos Gonzalez, Lorenzo Trocio, Tien Pham, and Evelyn Contreras, will compete in a Championship event in Washington, DC. The 2022 U.S. Army JROTC Academic Bowl Championship will be held on The Catholic University of America campus, June 24-28, 2022. This event is sponsored by the U.S. Army Cadet Command and is conducted by the College Options Foundation. Everglades High School JROTC team earned top scores out of the 1,942 Army JROTC academic teams that competed worldwide. The team is one of only thirty-two Army JROTC Academic Bowl teams in the nation to advance to the final competition, which includes an all-expense-paid trip to the Championship event in D.C. |
