Chamber Committees

Apply for a Committee
Chamber Governing Committees:
The Chamber has three governing committees. These members dictate the direction of the chamber's path forward, and so their selection must be approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Governance/Nominations
The Governance Committee ensures that the Chamber operates consistently with best governance practices for similar organizations, identifies and recommends candidates to serve on the Board, and handles any other governance related matters.
  • Finance Committee
This committee reviews the financial health of the Chamber, including budgeting, taxes, revenue streams, and any general accounting issues. The Finance Committee is composed of three board members and three general members to ensure transparency and confidentiality.
  • Membership and External Relations
This committee focuses on our relationships with our members and community at large to ensure that we are always providing the highest quality value to our members.

Chamber Special Committees:
The Chamber also has a number of special interest committees to increase member involvement in topics of interest and further their membership development in the chamber.
  • Government & Legislative Affairs
This committee provides valuable business-related governmental information (local, county, state, national) to our Chamber members, and when necessary, proposes position statements that speak with one voice on behalf of our members.
  • Ambassadors
Ambassadors are the spirit of the Chamber. As liaisons of our Chamber, their constant presence at all Chamber functions provides a professional, hospitable atmosphere as well as assists in establishing relationships among its memberships.
  • Special Events
This committee is tasked with assisting in planning and executing the special annual events that the chamber holds.
  • Healthcare
This committee works to implement projects that partner the business community and healthcare institutions and programs together. It also is tasked with bringing the healthcare professionals in our region together to build resources and relationships.
  • Veteran Business Owners
This is a new committee created to be a hub of resources for Veteran business owners, a support team to mastermind the unique challenges they face, and host training and development opportunities for business growth.
  • Chamber for Good/Non Profit
This group convenes nonprofit members to share best practices, network, and give input on Chamber programs and services geared to nonprofit members. It also provides monthly training sessions and quarterly fundraising opportunities.
  • Scholarship Committee  (501c3)
This committee encourages continued educational opportunity for students through annual scholarship awards, and stimulates the participation of both the business and professional community through mentoring the next generation of business and community leaders in our area high schools.
