History
Our History
The first meeting of the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce was held in 1969 at the Miramar Diner, with 17 members attending. Ed Minaya, then publisher of The Mirror, brought together 19 local business people and formed a charter to organize the Miramar Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce. Incorporation came on December 11, 1969.
Regional
As the Chamber membership has grown, a portion of our membership is derived from outside of the Miramar Pembroke Pines area which keeps us on the cutting edge of the regional concept. Thus, the Chamber added "Regional" to its name.
Expansion
The Chamber is committed to the growth and success of our area businesses. To that end, the Chamber has expanded its organization and subsidiaries to include a 501(c)3 Scholarship Foundation, a chamber in Pembroke Park & West Park, and a chamber in Weston.
