COVID-19 Vaccine Mandates
The U.S. Department of Labor issued its Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) that requires businesses with at least 100 employees to develop and implement a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy by January 4, 2022. The ETS requires employees get vaccinated or undergo weekly testing and continue to wear face coverings in the workplace. All U.S.-based employees count towards the 100 employee threshold. Part-time workers count towards the total – independent contractors do not. Employers must offer paid time off for vaccination and recovery from side effects.
