PEMBROKE PINES, FL, January 16, 2026 (EINPresswire.com) - Children’s Harbor proudly celebrated a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, January 13th, to officially unveil The Harbor Hangout, the organization’s newest campus space. The ceremony was coordinated by the Miramar/Pembroke Pines Chamber of Commerce and attended by members of the City Commission, the Mayor of Pembroke Pines Mayor Angelo Castillo, Commissioner Maria Rodriguez, Vice Mayor of Oakland Park, Aisha Gordon, Senator Dr. Barbara Sharief, Children’s Harbor board members, staff, and community supporters.

The Harbor Hangout is a thoughtfully designed outdoor pavilion featuring lounge-style seating and open gathering areas where teens can relax, connect, and simply be kids while enjoying time outside. Created with intention and care, the space reflects a deep understanding of the needs of the young people Children’s Harbor serves and will have a lasting impact on campus life for years to come.

This project was made possible through the extraordinary leadership and dedication of Peyton Ross, an Eagle Scout candidate and the son of Children’s Harbor’s Board Chair Karen Ross. Over the course of a year and a half, Peyton led the project from concept to completion as his Eagle Scout service project. He designed plans, coordinated vendors, managed construction, and successfully raised $10,000 in fundraising and over $50,000 through professional in-kind services generously donated by community partners.

Community members, local leaders, and business professionals were invited to attend the official ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this exciting new addition to the local restaurant scene.

The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony took place on Friday, December 12th at Bamboo Loft Restaurant & Lounge, located at 6532 Pembroke Road in Miramar. Guests had the opportunity to experience the venue, meet the owners and team, and learn more about the concept behind this vibrant new establishment.

On Saturday, November 22, Calvin Giordano & Associates employees volunteered alongside more than 100 community volunteers to support the Prestige Club’s Annual Children’s Picnic at Bamford Park, which brought together more than 1,600 children and families facing hardship across Broward County.

CGA has supported The Prestige Club for nearly three decades, contributing more than $100,000 to-date and providing long-term volunteer leadership, including Executive Assistant Dawn Hopkins, who has volunteered with the organization for 17 years and helps coordinate volunteer logistics each year.

SAFEbuilt CEO Chris Giordano was also onsite volunteering; his father, Dennis Giordano, was one of Prestige Club’s founding members.

The event featured games, activities, character entertainment, and educational stations, as well as the signature Santa’s Mailbox, where children write letters requesting holiday wishes. Each letter is reviewed by volunteers, and the requested gift is delivered to each child’s home in December.

Pembroke Pines, Fla. ― Nov. 7, 2025 ― Subaru of Pembroke Pines is proud to donate more than $100,000 to two hometown charities, continuing its tradition of giving that now totals more than $1.2 million for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and $113,400 for the Humane Society of Broward County from funds raised during the Subaru Share the Love® Event. For every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased from Nov. 21, 2024, and Jan. 2, 2025, Subaru donated $300 to a hometown charity of the customer’s choosing.
 
Every year, Craig Zinn Automotive Group President and CEO Craig Zinn generously matches the amount raised by the campaign. This year, Subaru of Pembroke Pines raised $69,280 for Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and $31,689 for the Humane Society of Broward County.
