Chamber Member Haiti Relief Efforts

HAITI RELIEF EFFORTS

The Miramar - Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce members are participating in the effort to help Haiti in this time of need. If you are interested in helping with any of these organizations, please call or e-mail the contacts below.



 

The global YMCA movement is responding in a coordinated effort to address the immediate needs of the children, families, and devastated communities in Port au Prince, and surrounding areas through financial support.

The Kiwanis club has a sewing project - the aim is to provide NEW clothing to the needy in Haiti. We are looking for volunteers that will sew the patterns using fabric the club provides.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is accepting donations that go directly to Haiti. Also, they are looking for volunteers to help process Haitians arriving in Florida.

Tropical Financial is supporting WOCCU (World Council of Credit Unions) in their efforts to help credit union employees and members affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Donations are being accepted at all TFCU branches. In addition, TFCU has donated $5,000 to this organization.

Broward County has launched a "365 Food Drive" as a year long effort to collect food & toiletries to benefit area food banks. All non-perishable food items & toiletries are being collected at government centers, main & regional courthouses & Broward county libraries.
