2. Grant writing for the 501(c) (3)

Goal:

  • To seek funding from a variety of sources to support the variety of activities of the 501 (c) (3)

Action:

  • Jan 2007- It was determined  that in the remaining 6 months of the 2006-07 Chamber fiscal year will serve as a grooming time to launch this effort.
  • A grant team will be sought and the team will be educated on basic processes.
  • A workshop will be sought to attend, and the team will be invited to attend to gain knowledge of the process.
  • Agenda should include workshops that offer the student education on how to look for monies themselves.   Keiser University already hosts a series so the scholarship committee would not have to re-invent the structure.   This would be a win-win partnership.

  • The target launch date to begin regular activity will be August 2007.
